Legal Assistant / Junior Paralegal

My client is currently looking to recruit a Personal Injury Legal Assistant / Junior Paralegal to join a Stockport based law firm within the busy new claims department.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially secure New York Stock Exchange listed global organisation.  They offer excellent career progression for candidates who are committed and have an great benefits package.  This role would suit either a law graduate (LLB / LPC / GDL) or someone who has worked within a Legal Administration role or has a keen interest in law.  Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential for this role as you will be the first point of contact for clients. The successful candidate would be expected to work within the New Claims team for around 6-9 months then progressing into a fee earning role with own caseload.

 

Duties include:

• Dealing with initial work to new and potential new personal injury claims, up to the end of Stage 1 of the RTA & Non-RTA Low Value PI Claims Protocols. 
• Taking initial instructions from potential clients and obtaining all information that may be required to enable us to submit the CNF.
• Input all relevant information onto the case management system and progress the claim in accordance with the firm’s processes.
• Vet the file in accordance with the firm’s acceptance criteria.
• Arrange sign-up by the client of our initial documentation.
• Carry out all due diligence compliance checks (including conflict & ID checks),
• Advise the client regarding the funding of their case, and arrange ATE or BTE insurance where appropriate.
• Upload the completed CNF onto the claims Portal.
• Instruct a medical expert via Medco in appropriate cases.
