The well established Risk & Compliance department within this major City firm focuses on providing strategic compliance and risk management advice to the firm's UK and international offices. This particular position, which reports to Senior Risk Lawyers, is primarily focused on advising the firm on a wide range of data protection, data security, privacy and related issues, alongside other more general Risk matters. This will include advising the firm on data processing, data protection, data security, privacy, copyright, direct marketing; and taking a lead on data protection and privacy issues, including updating and implementing general firm-wide data privacy policies and procedures. The role requires an understanding of the relevant legislation, the proposed upcoming changes in the law in this area, as well as the SRA Handbook. The ideal person for this role will be an experienced lawyer with some experience of both general Risk and data protection and data security issues, although the team are also happy to consider specialist data protection lawyers looking for a non fee-earning role.
