Contentious Construction Associate (5-9 PQE)

A new opportunity has become available at a large international firm in London for a contentious construction associate at the 5-9 PQE level.

The team advises on all aspects of construction law within both the contentious and non-contentious spheres. Although the focus of this role will be predominantly within the contentious area, candidates that have a mixed background with experience in both areas will be considered. The team acts for a large range of both international and domestic clients on a wide variety of projects including but not limited to power stations, residential and retail projects, defence and infrastructure projects and retail park developments.

The new joiner will likely have experience in construction litigation, arbitration or adjudication matters. Applicants with a background in engineering would be at a slight advantage but this is not an essential requirement for the position. The associate will not only have the opportunity to work alongside recognised practitioners within the construction disputes sphere, but also be given the opportunity to supervise a number of more junior solicitors as well and aid in their development. Expertise in the NEC and FIDIC form of contract is essential for this role, as is a strong working knowledge of the TCC and adjudication. A good understanding of arbitration would also be an advantage. Competitive remuneration and the chance to join an ambitious and growing team is available.
