In-House Junior Legal Counsel – Peterborough
About
McKenzie Douglas are representing a client who are looking for a junior litigation lawyer to join their team. This is ideal for a candidate who wants to get their foot in the door with a fantastic business who have a friendly and respected legal function.
The position is based in a location which is commutable from the surrounding areas of Peterborough, Kettering and Cambridge.
Accountabilities
You will be dealing with a mixture of litigation ranging from commercial, property, construction amongst others. The hiring manager is very keen on developing a junior candidate by building on their strengths and giving them exposure to other areas of law when they’re ready. You will enjoy leveraging your previous background but can expect to develop into a general commercial lawyer. This is rare and not seen often in the In-House legal market.
Requirements
- NQ – 4 years PQE*
- We welcome candidates from private practice, keen to make the transition
- Experience in litigation/ dispute resolution
- Background in one or more of the following; commercial litigation, property litigation, construction litigation – not personal injury but might consider some candidates with civil litigation backgrounds.
- Must show the right attitude – motivated, keen to learn and genuinely interested in the In-House market
