My client, an instantly recognisable and rapidly growing energy supplier, is seeking to hire a Legal Counsel to the legal team within its Bristol office.
The new hire will join an innovative and forward-thinking legal team, and will become part of a legal function that works within genuine proximity to the wider business.
The remit of this role will be predominantly within the retail business. You will work closely with key delivery teams such as Technology and Product and support them on a broad range of commercial matters. You will be involved in the entire cycle of deals, from awareness of the commercial context at their inception, to drafting the contracts themselves. Furthermore, you will give advice pertaining to customer care and communications, and advertising and marketing campaigns.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- 2 – 3 years’ post-qualification experience in either private practice or in-house*;
- Experience and understanding of a broad variety of commercial contracts, having had direct contact with those working in a purely business-focused capacity e.g. clients;
- Knowledge of general consumer and data protection regulations, as well as IP matters;
- Demonstrable commercial awareness, with the ability to negotiate and solve problems in a commercial and constructive manner;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex ideas concisely;
- The ability to effectively manage and prioritise a substantial workload.
You will be rewarded with a fun, dynamic and supportive environment and a range of exciting legal work.

*PQE level is a guideline; candidates with more or less experience will still be considered.
