Your new role
This is a new role as part of a in-house legal team expansion, reporting into the General Counsel & Company Secretary. You will join as a crucial cog in the machine, supporting internal stakeholders including the Partners, HR, IT, Business Development and Finance Teams. You will negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including IT, software licensing, supply, events and engagement contracts, while also advising on data protection, IP, compliance and company secretarial matters as they arise. You will use your excellent communication skills and commercial acumen to support a demanding but supportive firm of actuaries. The role comes with a great work-life balance and high levels of responsibility.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have strong academics and UK training, ideally with a reputable firm. You will have up to 2 years' PQE, with a strong commercial skill set and the desire to work closely with a business. You will have proven negotiating skills and the ability to take in your stride legal issues involving data protection, IP, compliance and company secretarial components. You will be a team player with excellent attention to detail, happy to support different business units, including the robustness to effectively push back to internal stakeholders when necessary. Ultimately, you will have a willingness to develop yourself within a small but very busy legal function.
