Tax Litigation solicitor/ barrister NQ – 2 years’ PQE/ Call LONDON

Large commercial law firm in London is looking to recruit a Tax Litigation solicitor or barrister of 0 to 2 years’ PQE/ Call. The Tax team advises clients on all contentious and non-contentious Tax issues. Clients include listed companies, foreign owned companies, public sector bodies and institutional investors and the team advises them on what steps to take to avoid a tax dispute with HMRC arising and, where disputes do unfortunately arise, how to secure the most favourable outcome in an efficient and cost effective manner. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of current corporate and other direct tax issues, the direct tax statutory regime and tribunal procedure and other routes to remedy. Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. You will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach. They will also have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be comfortable in working both as part of a team on large transactions as well as handling your own matters with support from colleagues. You would be joining a team that will give you the opportunity to work on major tax deals across the country and cross border. If you are already a qualified solicitor you will already specialise in Tax Litigation law. If you are newly-qualified you must have undertaken a Tax seat (contentious or non-contentious) during your training. If you are a barrister you must have completed your pupillage to be considered for this role and have at least undertaken some Tax Litigation matters during your training.
