A leading international law firm based in the heart of the City currently has a fantastic opportunity for an IT Manager to join their friendly team. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing the overall IT function in the London office and managing a small team of IT Analysts. Reporting directly to the Director of IT Operations in the US, the IT Manager will serve as a customer service advocate and technology consultant by providing support, feedback and recommendations to enhance processes and internal customer experiences. This is a varied and hands on role which will involve but not be limited to: managing the local implementation of Firmwide IT projects, initiatives and related deployments; promoting effective use and training of the Firm's software; coordinating with other IT teams on timely escalation and closure of user support hardware and software issues; coordinating with the IT Network Operations and Telecommunication departments to monitor the performance of and perform routine maintenance on network infrastructure, servers, and telecommunication and audio/visual equipment and handling IT projects as assigned. Applicants should have expert proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite. The IT Manager should also have advanced to expert knowledge of Microsoft Operating System application installation and configuration processes; remote access architectures, applications and technologies (Citrix, VPN); wireless PDA technologies (BlackBerry, iOUS); networking technologies, cabling topologies, and related applications; Network topologies, including wireless networking; installation and configuration of data communication devices, networking devices and cabling; practice support/litigation support applications (LiveNote); Inter/Intra/Extranet technologies and DMS (WorkSite). The IT Manager will have relevant experience of providing direct support to customers in the areas of software, hardware and networking technologies and have previous management or supervisory experience within a professional services or law firm environment. A Microsoft Office Specialist [MOS] Certification is highly desirable as is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Due to the nature of this role the IT Manager must have a flexible approach to work and have expert knowledge of customer service principles and practices. The IT Manager must have excellent communication and management skills and hold a high level of personal integrity and the ability to create a positive and motivating work environment. This role would best suit a strong all-rounder with a good understanding of business processes, a high degree of professionalism and a results focussed approach.
