Our client is a large construction and mining company and they are looking for a paralegal/legal assistant to help with international investigations.
Digital Forensics is a role with responsibility for leading and supporting inquiries into allegations / concerns of wrongdoing and managing digital/forensic investigation processes, systems and software. Specific accountabilities include:
* Planning and executing internal reviews, digital analyses and investigations into possible violations of company standards, policies and relevant local and international laws
* Supporting members of the Group Investigations, and as part of multi-disciplinary teams consisting of legal, HR, security, finance, IS&T, cybersecurity and business professionals, with digital forensic/investigation advice, evidence preservation and analysis
* Acquiring forensic images of computer hard drives and other digital media to an evidential standard and perform timely and proportionate analysis of data
* Collate, store, process, index and manage the timely hosting of data onto the company's eDiscovery platform (or evidentially present data to an external forensic provider) to enable investigators to remotely access cases and conduct eReviews
* Maintain contemporaneous and case file notes whilst developing collection plans and examination strategies for digital data
* Collecting, preserving, scheduling and disclosing evidence ensuring the chain of custody is documented to maintain a robust exhibits management process
* Ensuring that all data is processed and handled in accordance with data privacy policies and regulations
* Preparing factual and evidential written reports to support internal and third party reviews (civil and/or criminal action); testifying as required in disciplinary and/or legal proceedings
* Promoting legally compliant and ethical digital investigation practice; providing guidance and feedback where necessary
* Simultaneously contributing towards multiple projects/cases
* Coordinating work performed by external digital forensic contractors when needed
To be considered for this position it is essential that you have:
* Educated to degree level (or equivalent professional investigation accreditations) with relevant investigation experience including law enforcement, military, government, corporate and/or consulting environments
* Specialist digital forensics training / certifications is advantageous, particularly software such as EnCase, X-ways forensics, FTK, Cellebrite, Spektor triage tools and Intella (or an equivalent eDiscovery platform such as Relativity or Ringtail)
* Understanding of complex evidential preservation (e.g. email servers, network traffic, drives, sharepoints, database systems etc.) and disclosure principles
* Ability to engage and brief management and provide concise and professional advice
* A willingness to travel, if required
* Exemplary and unquestionable personal integrity
* Excellent active listening and communication skills
* Inclusive and flexible style with an openness to receive and provide feedback
* Excellent analytical skills, with significant attention to detail in work products and reports
* Intermediate excel proficiency and general competence with other analytical tools is advantageous
* Strong work ethics and the ability to multitask
* Additional language (French/Spanish) is advantageous
