Compliance and Data Protection Manager
Our client is a well-known consumer services business, employing close to 30,000 people across the UK.
A new role has been created for a Compliance Manager within the business who will take responsibility for creating and implementing compliance policies and procedures whilst also taking on the role of Data Protection Officer. You will advise the business on rules and controls, contribute your professional expertise as part of the Risk Management function and assist the internal audit function. You will deliver the GDPR programme across the Group.
The ideal candidate will have sound experience and expertise in legal compliance, regulation and data protection. You will be an experienced compliance manager or lawyer with relevant experience. Ideally you will have prior service or engineering sector experience but this is not essential as your abilities to understand their regulatory rules are more important. A working knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, Modern Slavery Act, Equality Act, Gender Pay and Market Abuse regulations are all desirable. It is important that you are a strong communicator, display gravitas and a grounded/practical approach.
