Our client
Our client is a global healthcare provider involved in all the stages of the product lifecycle, and committed to improving the life of patients worldwide through providing efficient and accessible treatments. Through its different areas of involvement, the group prides itself on strong investment in innovation and R&D.
The role
Due to internal mobility, an opportunity has arisen for a seasoned IP litigator to join the legal team based in Madrid. Reporting into the Associate General Counsel for IP, the successful candidate will manage multijurisdictional IP litigation as well as the IP aspects linked to product market entry and lifecycle management. He/she will provide legal support and interact with different business units including R&D, Business Development, and the patent and commercial teams. This will include legal advice for the launch, development and registration of generic, biosimilar and branded products. Involvement in developing processes and strategies for the protection and enforcement of corporate and product trademarks will be required, as well as input on IP related legal issues in the context of anti-trust matters, and transactional operations.
Profile sought
The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, creative and proactive, able to work in project management mode whilst maintaining attention to detail, and demonstrating the capacity to prioritise. He/she will have minimum 4 years' previous experience of IP issues in the pharmaceutical field, either acquired in a top law firm and/or in-house. Your level of English will be fluent and ideally coupled with another language (Spanish being an asset). You must also be willing to travel internationally, and be based in Madrid.
