Civil Litigation Locum

The legal specialist team at Venn Group are recruiting for a Civil Litigation Locum working in a Public Sector organisation based in Worcestershire for a minimum term of 6 months.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Legal Assistants, newly qualified Solicitors and/or Legal Executives.

Main Responsibilities:

• To advise on applications for civil orders in the Magistrates' and County Court (such as Anti Social Behaviour Orders, Sexual Offences Prevention Orders)
• To progress debt recovery work and assist with other civil litigation on behalf of the organisation
• To undertake legal research as required by the other members of the legal team
• To assist the other members of the team in the preparation of bundles of evidence and witness statements across the Department's various work areas and instruct Counsel where necessary
• To commence applications for civil orders at the relevant Court
• To undertake basic advocacy
• To adhere to case management procedures in connection with claims dealt with by the department including receipt and handling of telephone calls and correspondence
• To participate in meetings and work as part of the team
• To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required

An hourly rate of £15-£25 per hour can be expected for this role however this will be dependant upon experience. If you wish to be considered for the role at a higher rate then please call to discuss.
