Compliance Manager (Magic Circle Law Firm)

Our client, a magic circle law firm, are seeking a compliance manager to join their busy compliance practice.

The compliance manager will be an central member of the compliance team, reporting directly to the head of international compliance and managing partner, general manager and practice area leaders, promoting compliance within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Professional standards and practice

• Maintain a detailed knowledge of and promoting compliance with the firm’s professional standards and risk management policies.
• Assisting partners / lawyers in the practical implementation of information barriers required by the clearance centre

Compliance

• Promote and keep track of the firm’s compliance policies.
• Work closely with the data privacy officer to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and completing the annual data protection registration.
• Promote local compliance
• Coordinate local responses to the annual professional indemnity questionnaire
• Ensure all London office partners and staff complete the annual compliance declaration

The compliance manager will also participate in the induction process for new joiners in relation to compliance and professional standards as well as ensuring that training reflects the ethical needs of the London office.
 
The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the firm, including partners, is paramount.

This role would suit applicants with a legal background who have worked within compliance at a private practice law firm or leading investment bank.
