As a world leading tyre manufacturer, with over 100,000 employees worldwide and global revenues in excess of $14bn, Michelin produces and sells products and services to customers in over 170 countries globally. Included in its range are tyres for all kinds of vehicles, branded consumer products, the world famous Michelin Guide to hotels and restaurants, maps and guides.

In the UK, Michelin Tyre PLC has operations in Ballymena, Dundee, Stoke-on-Trent and Watford. An opportunity has arisen for two solicitors to join the business, at the UK Headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent, reporting into the Head of Legal for the UK.

Commercial Solicitor (circa 1-4 years' PQE)

As a commercial solicitor at Michelin, you will focus on activities associated with core products from across all areas of the business, including commercial product lines, purchasing, manufacturing sites and other service based departments.

The focus of your role will involve drafting and negotiating standard and non-standard commercial contracts including terms and conditions, complex service agreements, agency contracts, licensing agreements, sponsorship agreements, consultancy agreements and NDAs for product lines with large national and international car manufacturers and other organisations such as Porsche, Goodwood and BNP Paribas. In addition, you will gain exposure to broader legal areas such as advising on copy clearance for marketing and media (including TV advertisement and social media), potential disputes, competition law, compliance, the use and protection of brands/trademarks and data protection.

To be successful in this role you will need a good grounding in commercial law and be willing and competent at dealing with matters which may not be in your specialist area. As an in-house solicitor, you will be expected to demonstrate sound commercial and legal judgment as well as a practical "common sense" approach to the provision of legal advice.

Digital Solicitor (2-4 years' PQE)

Building on the global success of the business, Michelin are seeking to develop its engagement with customers via the use of digital media and e-commerce using the Michelin website and other prominent social media platforms. As such, an opportunity has arisen for a lawyer to join and advise the business with regards to Michelin's online presence, providing support to the Digital Media department and wider business on their use of technology.

For this opportunity we are seeking a lawyer with at least 2 years PQE with experience of advising clients in relation to digital media, e-commerce and ideally data protection. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful global manufacturing business which is seeking to develop it's expertise in a new area. As part of a small UK team you will also gain exposure and experience within broader commercial legal areas.

As a member of the Michelin legal service you will have the opportunity to develop your career within a market leading organisation.

Michelin Tyre PLC offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
