Your new company
You will be joining a pioneering shared legal services partnership between three Councils at the forefront of local government transformation. As Senior Corporate Lawyer you will provide a timely, accurate, comprehensive and proactive legal provision, assisting in the continuous development of the shared legal service to meet legislative changes.

About the role
This is a key role whereby you will deal with complex transactions, identify legal issues and offer clients optimum solutions, ensuring that Partnership Authorities are responding in an appropriate manner to legislative changes. You will predominately specialise in either Regulatory work (external corporate legal services relating to prosecutions, enforcements, licensing, employment tribunals and so forth) or Governance work (internal corporate legal services relating to process, constitution, Members, Monitoring Officer support, FOI, DPA, EIR, Contracts or Complaints). However there may be a requirement to undertake work across all areas of corporate law for the Partnership Authorities and their contractual third parties. You will contribute to a culture of high performance and pro-activity, underpinning a Law & Governance service that has the agility and capability to deliver outstanding quality to an increasing customer base. In this role you will support and assist the management of the shared legal service and where necessary will deputise for the Principal Lawyer and Practice Manager.

About you
We are looking for an experienced and technically accomplished lawyer with a current practicing certificate or CILEx qualifications. Talented and resilient, you will have the commercial and interpersonal skills necessary to drive our business strategies, alongside the technical skills to provide expert legal and comprehensive legal knowledge. You should have experience of dealing with a demanding caseload, the ability to work under pressure and be highly competent in your use of IT.
