Reporting to the General Counsel within a talented legal team, this position is newly created due to volume of work which is reflective of the aggressive growth of the business. The environment is fast paced with a great collegiate approach to work within the legal team.
This is a very hands-on role where you will assist with all aspects of legal work. Core work will involve drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with clients, media owners and suppliers in relation to all aspects of traditional and digital media strategy, planning and buying, together with digital creative production and event management.
Key Responsibilities:
- commercial contract drafting and negotiating (experience with media and advertising agreements is a plus)
- drafting and negotiation of IT services and technology procurement agreements
- intellectual property protection (especially in relation to trademark and copyright matters)
- privacy and data protection compliance
- monitoring and advising on regulatory issues in relation to advertising and digital/internet areas
You will require a strong private practice background and excellent drafting skills. You will need to be in house currently or have completed secondments, ideally within the media industry.
Given the level of involvement in business and client management, you must be commercially-minded with the ability to work cross-culturally. As a highly visible role, it demands confidence, character, and excellent communication skills.
