Childcare Locum Solicitor

I am currently recruiting for a large West Midlands based Local Authority who require a Child Care Lawyer to join their in-house Childcare Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and positive working environment.

Applications are welcome from solicitors, barristers and legal executives. Previous childcare experience is not necessary but a keen interest in family law is essential, and the desire to develop skills in the public sector.

The ideal candidate would possess excellent organisational skills, be able to time manage efficiently and work to tight deadlines.

Duties and tasks will include:

*Providing advice to the client department in respect of social services issues, family court proceedings and general advice

*Conducting proceedings including care, supervision and adoption applications

*Conduct your own advocacy at contested and final hearings

*Making emergency applications

Initially recruiting on a three month contract, we are advised as to the strong likelihood of extension.

This is a full-time role on the basis of 35 hours over 5 days per week and the hourly rate will be between £23.62 - £27.44 per hour to Umbrella or Limited company.
