The company:
A financial services are seeking a global markets legal counsel to join their global markets legal team.
The role:
Providing legal support for the Global Markets division in the EMEA region, primarily in respect of Global Link, the Multilateral Trading Facility and related platforms.
About you:
- The successful candidate will have relevant experience gained in house with global top tier investment banks and other financial services firms (from both a buy-side and a sell-side perspective), preferably including in the derivatives department of an in-house team with hands on advisory experience with trading platforms (Multilateral Trading facilities) and derivatives products.
- Familiarity with electronic exchange platforms and the applicable regulatory framework
- Knowledge of EMIR, MiFID, MiFID II, MAR (including applicable regulatory technical standards) and Dodd Frank impact on documentation and procedures
- Results orientated with strong project management and execution skills
- Acting in a proactive manner and with strong organisational/efficiency skills including preparation of status reports for Managing Counsel and escalation to Managing Counsel.
- Excellent interpersonal and client management skills with ability to sustain strong relationships with clients, peers and staff and carefully handling sensitive issues and discussions
- Ability to interact with multiple levels in an organisation and in multiple jurisdictions
- Keen understanding of market practice impacting the business lines in the relevant jurisdictions and ability to work with business units (under pressure and to tight deadlines) to achieve practical solutions within applicable regulatory and risk parameters.
