Higher rates of advocacy would be looked on favourably however it is not imperative. It is important you can manage cases right up to trial.

Duty Solicitor Status would be an advantage but not essential however a police station qualification is essential. You should have good academics and have an ability to prepare cases in depth whilst managing your time accordingly. You will have trained and gained experience within a criminal defence team of note. Pro-activeness and a positive mental attitude are absolutely vital attributes to have !
