My client, a highly regarded legal firm with offices nationwide, is currently seeking an Immigration Fee Earner to join their Wakefield based office.
As an Immigration Fee Earner, you will; Undertake casework and manage a caseload up to level of competence/accreditation; Provide written and verbal representation, for clients seeking assistance in the Immigration/ Asylum law field in accordance with Legal Aid Specialist Quality Mark Standards and legal policy; Prepare and manage applications to Home Office; Advise clients regarding procedure and practice.
Ideally you will be representing clients before judges as well as; preparing cases, drafting witness statements and other complex documents, dealing with all client contact including interviewing and advising them regarding Immigration/Asylum law, procedure, and practice and providing guidance to clients on completion of documents.
As such, the following criteria are highly desirable for any Immigration Fee Earner looking to apply;
- Degree qualified in Law
- 1-2 years experience of immigration and asylum legal advice.
- An understanding to immigration/ asylum matters
- An understanding of the duty to the court and client
- Fully accredited to Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme level 2 ideally, however level 1 accreditation will also be considered for the role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to travel across the UK if required
- Proven interpersonal skills
