Carrying out securitisation work in conjunction with appointed panel solicitors; contributing to the maintenance of the legal property records system; review of the organisation's title and related conveyancing information for its real property assets; focusing on continuous improvement of processes and relationships.
Key Deliverables
Support senior team members with regard to ensuring a full review of schemes and assets and the collation of documentation managed in order to improve and maintain the records management system for the organisation's assets.
Continue to develop processes and procedures for the handover of legal documentation from the Development departments to the Legal Team.
Conducting a legal review of documentation for asset or scheme of assets. Identify documentation required and if appropriate report on each scheme or asset highlighting the rights and constraints attributed to that asset to ensure stakeholder requirements are met both operationally, legally and from a charging/ rationalisation perspective.
Contribute to security charging over existing properties liaising with valuers and solicitors.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, development, treasury and finance to ensure effective knowledge sharing is in place.
Contribute to establishing good relationships with third parties such as the Land Registry and Local Authorities as well as liaisons with internal stakeholders.
Undertake the due diligence process of stock acquisition and disposals to deliver the organisation's growth and rationalisation strategy.
Ensure a full legal review is conducted by solicitors instructed and ensure an adequate Report on Title for each asset is produced.
Contribute to the creative process required for finding alternative approaches to improve the collation of legal documentation and to overcome the difficulties of retrieving the same.
Adhere to procedures for document provision from various sources (internal and external stakeholders) and ensure the documentation is then accessible to the business.
Respond to queries in an efficient and prompt manner ensuring customer requirements are met.
Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to ensure an integrated contribution to the organisation's corporate objectives.
Provide assistance when required in relation to other activities (for example in relation to leasehold and freehold title enquiries and property asset transactions) carried out by the legal team as directed by senior officers including the provision of cover for any absent team members.
Participate in team and department meetings, changes to procedures or methods of working in cooperation with others, contributing to news bulletins or messages on key legal changes issued to colleagues, and other organisational or improvement related tasks/projects.
Observe and comply with policies and procedures for Health and Safety at Work and in relation to all other employee matters in the staff handbook; observe and continually promote and comply with policies on equal opportunities and customer care. Observe and promote organisational aims objectives values and required behaviours.
Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
- Practical experience within a similar role ideally at a Solicitors or Conveyancing Practice
- Legal Qualification with property law covered
- Experience of dealing with large estates or property portfolios will be an advantage
