Commercial/Insurance 3-5 - Hampshire

Leading Financial Services Company that is easily accessible from London is seeking an additional hire to join its small collegiate team. As a senior legal advisor, you will report to the General Counsel and work closely with non-lawyer. Key responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for identifying and advising the Group on complex legal issues associated with the implementation of the corporate strategy and the mitigation of identified risks.
• Responsible for ensuring that the Group is not unnecessarily exposed to legal claims by providing appropriate legal advice, by managing complex legal transactions and by managing litigation involving the Group.
• Responsible for identifying and advising the Group on company law issues.
• Responsible for the management, timely assessment and mitigation of all assigned risks.
• Responsible for overseeing the provision of outsourced services in relation to investment fund management services provided by various outsourcers and ensuring that these services are provided in accordance with their contracts.
• Assisting with the oversight of the provision of outsourced services in relation to the administration of policies and ensuring that these services are provided in accordance with their contracts.
• To liaise with external lawyers where appropriate and manage their service provision.
• To participate in ad hoc projects and be the recognised legal contact in that project team.
• To assist the Company Secretary in providing a full company secretarial service to the Group including advising on corporate governance matters.

Prospective candidates will either currently be working within the commercial, insurance or pensions division, at a law firm or working in-house. In-house experience within the financial services sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
