In-House Commercial Litigation Solicitor

Following a recent legal review, our client has committed to retaining and handling more of its legal work in-house. This has created a new role for an In-house Commercial Litigation Solicitor in Milton Keynes.

Working with the existing in-house lawyers, under the direction of the General Counsel, the In-house Commercial Litigation Solicitor will be responsible for the provision of a broad range of contentious and non-contentious legal advice and legal risk management. The main areas of focus will include: advice to the customer services centre; management of all customer case defences; litigation support to the business; leading on Product Liability claims; managing all company/brand litigation and regulatory issues; providing guidance and training on Consumer Law litigation and new regulation; and leading on business critical projects. You will also have the opportunity to work on non-contentious commercial contracts as well as other ad hoc legal and commercial matters.

Applicants for this role are expected to have demonstrable experience of handling a broad commercial litigation caseload, and you must have experience advising on Consumer Law matters, both contentious and non-contentious. Experience of brand/IP/trademark matters is advantageous but not essential, as is an understanding of Marketing Law, Data Protection Law, Competition Law and Regulatory/Compliance matters. It is anticipated that you will have trained with a leading international or national law firm.
