An opportunity for an Immigration Solicitor to join an international law firm based in Birmingham to focus on providing immigration advice to a corporate/commercial client base.
Client Details
A leading international law firm.
Description
This is an opportunity within the Employment team of a Birmingham firm, to specialise on specific issues that arise relating to Immigration Law for its clients.
You will be the team's point of contact for all things Immigration law and will have the opportunity to develop the offering, working closely with counterparts in the other UK offices.
The team act for corporate entitites rather than advising individuals on immigration matters. So you'll typically be instructed by HR Directors and senior stakeholders within large corporates. As such, the team is looking for somebody with the necessary gravitas to lead conversations and develop relationships with these types of senior clients.
The team is busy and you will get the chance to work on top level Immigration work, advising household names and bluechip organisations.
It's likely that your workload will encompass:
- sponsorship and visa applications
- freedom of movement issues
- licence applications
- corporate support work - i.e. assisting the M&A team on any immigration matters that may come up on a deal
- sponsor licence applications
- potentially advice to individuals - i.e. executives and high net worth individuals
This is a rare opportunity to specialise and focus on purely Corporate Immigration law, rather than advising on Employment matters with occasional pieces of Immigration-focused advice.
The firm is a leading international firm and so has the infrastructure to help you develop and grow technically, as well as the opportunity to work with other solicitors nationally as part of a UK team.
Profile
Ideally you will have experience advising corporate businesses on Immigration law, whether this be all of your current caseload or as part of a wider Employment law offering.
You'll need to demonstrate an ability to deal with senior level clients and have ideas on how you can grow the offering within the Birmingham office.
Job Offer
Competitive depending on experience.
