New York Law firm is looking to hire an extra body in their Knowledge Management team on an initial 6 month fixed term contract, ideally someone that has either a law degree or GDL and is looking for a career in a law firm and looking for that 1st/2nd job at a top US law firm where you will be expected to work at a fast pace and have some of the best legal minds working alongside you.  Duties will include to assist in the collation, profiling and uploading of client matter documents and other precedent documentation submitted to the Knowledge Management team. This will involve, identifying the key characteristics of each document and recording them in an electronic document profile and uploading the documents and documentation to the firm’s databases and knowledge management systems, to assist in deal closing meetings and deal debriefs in relation to client matters, to be part of the team carrying out searches of the London on-line Knowledge Management resources in response to attorney requests, to assist the KM Attorneys in the preparation of Knowledge Management resources training for London attorneys and other staff, to provide support to the KM Attorneys in maintaining internal Knowledge Management resources and client-facing resources, to monitor the progress of London office matters (matter tracking) to identify their activity status and the substantive party and legal information on each transaction.  Applicants should have a genuine interest in financial markets and corporate law. Legal qualifications are required, with a law degree as a minimum but with the additional qualification of the LPC (commercial modules) preferred, be comfortable using technology, able to conduct effective online research and to learn quickly how to use new databases and online systems, be well organized and able to prioritise workloads to meet confliction deadlines and excellent written and oral communication skills; able to work well with lawyers and firm personnel.  Standard hours are 9:30 – 17:30 with a fantastic benefits package – offices are based in the City.
