Litigation Lawyer

Working as part of the vibrant in house legal department, the role will involve exciting and varied work in relation to employee negligence, product liability, industrial disease and public liability claims.

The client is a global FMCG brand based in Peterborough, with a sales presence across EMEA and over $20 billion in annual sales. The client are a household name who are looking for a Litigation Lawyer to join their small in house team to cover UK and Ireland business.

Description

• Management of all product liability claims over £2,000.
• Communicating claims to external solicitors when the need arises
• Documenting claims on to the data management system and cross examining claims history and previous payments
• Progressing reviews with the Senior Claims Manager, and other Legal Counsels, as well as training the caseworker team
• Maintaining cost control of ex-gratia, according to the budget
• Consistently developing legal knowledge on data protection and consumer matters
• Working with service and quality teams to ensure effective claims management
• Preparing court documents and defences

Profile

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor (or FILEx trained) with an understanding of consumer law/product liability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and sound computer skills are key, in addition to the ability to negotiate and work well with colleagues and other business stakeholders. Experience in PL and EL cases litigated would be an advantage.

Job Offer

This role is paying up to £30,000 plus benefits.
