Commercial (Media) Lawyer 3+ years PQE LONDON

Specialist media law firm in central London is seeking to recruit a Commercial (Media) lawyer of 3 or more years’ PQE. The successful candidate will report to the Partner who is responsible for the firm’s work in the advertising sector; however, all Associates are expected to work across a range of industry sectors and for a variety of different types of client (including corporates, entertainers, entrepreneurs, producers and high-profile executives). Successful candidates will therefore have a flexible and commercial approach.

Excellent drafting skills are essential for this role. Candidates may have gained such skills by working in private practice or in-house but will be required to demonstrate that they have experience in drafting complex commercial documentation, including service agreements, procurement agreements, IP licences and other general commercial agreements. Both an eye for detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving is essential.

The successful candidate will be able to advise clients directly on the terms of agreements and to engage independently in complex negotiations.

In terms of legal expertise, candidates will be expected to have a good understanding of Data Protection, IP rights and contract law (including issues of interpretation and termination). An understanding of specific entertainment or advertising industry documentation would be useful, but not essential.
