To support the Director of Governance and Legal Services and the Governance Manager to service boards and committees and ensure that the group has in place appropriate governance and regulatory compliance arrangements.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Governance and Legal Services and the Governance Manager to service the boards and committees for which they act as Secretary.

  • When requested and appropriate, act as Secretary to boards or committees in the group's governance structure.

  • Assist the Governance Manager to compile and submit returns to regulators and other agencies.

  • Assist the Governance Manager to maintain and develop as necessary the group's registers and other records held as required by the law and regulatory requirements, reporting activity as necessary internally.

  • When requested administer the receipt and opening of tenders, co-ordinating with colleagues across the group as necessary.

  • Provide other support as required (within the reasonable boundaries of the role) across the governance, legal and insurance functions.

Key Outcomes:

  • The compilation and issuing of papers (and other aspects of servicing boards and committees) is efficient and effective and meets the needs of board and committee members.

  • Fora in the governance and corporate structure are supported and serviced in compliance with the law and to the satisfaction of board members.

  • Regulatory submissions and registers and other records which the group is required to hold are processed efficiently and effectively to ensure compliance with requirements.

  • Tenders received by the group are held and opened efficiently and in compliance with policies and procedures.

Profile


Essential:

  • Servicing of boards and committees, including compiling and issuing papers.
  • Administration and compilation of information associated with regulatory returns, registers and other records required to be held, including drafting.

Desirable:

  • Acting as Secretary to boards or committees.
  • Company secretarial or similar administrative experience in the social housing sector.
