Billing Specialist

A highly prestigious US law firm renowned for their friendly atmosphere currently has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join their accounts team in London. Reporting to the Revenue and Billing Supervisor, the Billing Specialist will assist with the efficient operation of the billing function for the London office. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of drafting and finalising client bills. This is a busy and varied role which will include but not be limited to:

• Running billing guides
• Checking draft bills
• Liaising with Financial Services personnel, secretaries and lawyers
• Maintain and update client and matter billing information
• Perform manual calculations as necessary
• Prepare write-ups
• Prepare billing reports and analysis
• Maintain filing
• Adhere to billing policies
• E-billing
• Other duties as required

The following knowledge, skills and abilities are required:

• Knowledge of Legal Billing and Financial Management System (preferably Elite)
• Knowledge of Excel
• Strong organisational skills
• Excellent mathematical skills
• Excellent record-keeping skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through completion
• Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously
• Ability to perform clerical tasks with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work with a wide range of people in a team setting
• Ability to establish effective working relationships within the department, Office and Firm
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, vendors, and others outside the Firm
