Our client, an international law firm require a Head of Human Resources to join their London Office.

Having grown quickly, they now require an experienced and qualified HR professional to lead the HR team and work with the Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer to develop and deliver the firm’s people strategy.  

Role Overview:

Developing and implementing a people strategy in line with the firm’s strategic business plan, you’ll lead and develop the HR team, providing a wide-ranging generalist HR service providing pragmatic and commercially-focussed HR solutions, employee relations advice, recruitment and day-to-day operational HR service and administration that is legally compliant, cost effective, consistent and supports core business goals. As a member of the Business Management Team, you’ll assist with the smooth running of day-to-day business operations while improving and developing first class back office services for the core business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Senior Management Team to develop people strategy in line with strategic business plan and introduce the development of HR Strategies and polices supporting the firm’s vision and strategy driving change and continuous improvement.
  • Defies a strong talent brand together with robust attraction and retention strategies and programmes.
  • Develop practical performance management processes aligning individual goals with strategic business plan.
  • Develop effective internal communications programmes to ensure that employees are connected to firm and have the information they need for success.
  • Develop a talent identification programme and planning for succession.
  • Develop reward philosophies and programmes to energise individual and team performance.
  • Lead a focused, flexible and resourceful HR Team providing a diverse generalist HR service.
  • Provide pragmatic and commercially-focused HR solutions.
  • Provide employee relations advisory service, day-to-day operational HR service and administration that is legally compliant, cost effective, consistent and supports the firm’s values and goals.
  • Manage recruitment and selection activities and prepare tools and services.
  • Manage employee data and provide monthly and quarterly statistical reporting.  
  • Review, develop and implement HR and firm-wide policy, procedure, processes, controls and reporting in support of the firm’s vision, values and strategy.
  • Develop terms and conditions of employment and policies that are legally compliant and foster a flexible workforce connected to the firm’s culture.
  • Support the compliance officer and compliance manager.
  • Develop cost-effective pensions and benefits programmes.
  • Develop learning and development programmes in support of the firm’s vision and values.
  • Develop skills training and knowledge share programmes.
  • Develop management skills training programmes.
  • Act as an integral member of the business management team.
  • Work with the Managing Partner and the business management team to assist with the smooth running of day-to-day business operations.
  • Work with the business management team to raise the bar for internal support services, and deliver a combined set of high-quality, professional, commercially-focused back office services.

Skills & Knowledge:

Essential

  • Excellent Knowledge of UK employment legislation and practices.
  • Excellent spoken and written English Skills.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing HR Strategy, HR Policies and processes.
  • Educated to Degree Level.
  •  CIPD Accredited.

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with high attention to detail.
