Your new role
The sole in-house lawyer position, replacing the current US-based General Counsel. The role is being relocated to the UK for strategic purposes, and represents a fantastic opportunity for a senior technology lawyer to assume control in developing the in-house legal function, perhaps growing a team in time to come as well. You will negotiate, draft and review technology related commercial global contracts, including contractor, consulting, software licensing, services and reseller agreements. You will also advise across the business on intellectual property portfolio management, trademarks, corporate governance and any acquisitive activity that may manifest itself. The global nature of the organisation ensures that you will receive high-quality international work.

You will report directly into the CEO, thereby gaining board level access, enabling you to have valuable strategic input into the continued success of the organisation. Further, you will build relationships across the business, ensuring that the legal department is indispensable to the business.




What you'll need to succeed
You will be a senior level Counsel, with exceptional training, in-house exposure and a technology focus. Ideally you will have had experience leading an in-house legal function, either as part of a team or as Sole or General Counsel counsel, and you will be confident in laying the legal foundations of an in-house legal set up. You will possess exceptional commercial acumen and communication skills, bring gravitas to the negotiating table and be comfortable liaising across an international business including with senior management. You will be well versed with technology orientated commercial work, and will be a team player, ready to support different areas of the business.
