My client is a well-respected and highly regarded local authority. They are currently seeking to add to their Litigation team with a Legal Assistant who will be responsible for providing support to the Lawyers in the conduct of Child and Adult safeguarding cases.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a comprehensive legal service within the Council across its jurisdiction. You will be responsible for assisting and support qualified legal staff on high-calibre and wide ranging cases. You will be working on cases to ensure protection for Children and Adults who are subject to abuse, maltreatment or lacking in capacity to care for themselves. The successful candidate will be dealing with S.7 and S.37 reports, preparing cases for court, clerking cases, preparing letters / responding to correspondence and liaising with Counsel, social workers and solicitors.

The successful candidate will have a good level of knowledge and genuine interest in the law in this area. They will have completed either their LLB or GDL and may be currently studying or have recently completed their LPC. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate; however, previous experience in this area would be highly beneficial. A minimum of 6 months legal experience is required.
