Level of role - Associate 1 (0-3 PQE)

Our client is looking for a Planning Lawyer to join the ambitious and thriving team based in Leeds.

The Planning team has plans to grow othe practice across the English and Scottish offices. They have transformed their practice over the last few years - from focusing primarily on retail and housing to also being a major player in infrastructure work advising clients such as Network Rail and South East Water and winning a place on panels for major infrastructure developers such as National Grid and SSE.

They are working on a number of large, impressive mandates and are expanding the team to meet client demands. Their lawyers can expect to work on a variety of matters covering a range of sectors - Transport, Energy, Housing/mixed use developments and Retail. They are also continuing to grow their mandates for major regeneration schemes working on projects across England and Wales.

They work as a national team and all their lawyers get involved with high profile work for key clients and they are growing to meet both existing work levels and new opportunities.

They advise on planning and highway law, compulsory purchase and compensation, environmental impact and habitats and have particular expertise in:
- retail planning including major supermarket developments;
- the energy sector;
- infrastructure; particularly in the rail sector; and
- regeneration including town and city centre developments, tall buildings in central London and major housing schemes.

The successful candidate for this role will have:
- excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree
- clear understanding of the operation and structure of a Top 30 law firm
- ability to achieve continuous improvement and development
