Paralegal (Northampton)

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a large Local Authority based in the East Midlands who are currently seeking an experienced paralegal to join their Children and Social Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy exciting department alongside senior solicitors dealing with children services matters.

The ideal candidate will have successfully completed the Legal Practice Course or BPTC, have the ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation and summary key points of case law. In addition, have experience of working in legal practice, and knowledge of court and tribunal procedures.

Duties will include:

*Assisting solicitors in the preparation of cases in court and tribunals, and general providing support and acting as a point of contact.

*Managing a caseload of children social care matters

*Drafting and preparing legal documents, correspondence and conducting legal research

*Taking instructions, giving advice, attending meetings

*Undertaking general administrative tasks, ie filing, photocopy, scanning, diarising key dates

The Authority is currently recruiting on a three rolling month contract, with a strong likelihood of an extension. The hours of work are 37 hours over five days a week.

The hourly rate of pay is between £11.00 - £13.00 per hour to a Limited or Umbrella Company.
