Our Client is looking for a mid to senior level data/regulatory lawyer, ideally 5 year+ PQE, to join its Commercial & Technology team in London.
You must have experience of advising in the field of data protection and data security on an international basis as well as general commercial transactions and regulatory law.
Job Purpose
Working within an established team operating in London and other offices as necessary, the successful candidate will be capable of:
- working for a wide range of commercial technology clients – from start-ups to multinationals, institutions and charities on a wide range of matters;
- applying data law across the range of technology fields – including IT, financial services, life sciences, telecoms and eCommerce;
- delivering the full range of legal services expected of a Commercial & Technology lawyer – including – drafting, negotiating, project managing, supervising;
- advising on commercial and data protection, data security and associated regulatory issues;
- developing, building and deepening client relationships.
Person specification
- Have the requisite skills to perform at the highest level as a Commercial & Technology lawyer, including as a minimum being proactive, a solution provider, acting on initiative and being intuitive and adaptable to change
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals;
- Dedicated to delivering state of the art legal services to the highest standards;
- Passion for legal know-how and technical expertise within the relevant practice area;
- Ability to run Commercial & Technology deals independently and autonomously;
- Ability to work well within a team;
- Excellent written skills with a high attention to detail;
- Possess project management skills, with efficient time management as a minimum;
- Have business acumen and commercial deal awareness;
- Interest in technology and the products/services that our clients are buying or selling.
Someone with general experience, who can work across departments on data protection issues will be preferred.
