Duncan Lewis, a Legal 500 & Chambers UK 2016 recognised firm of solicitors, employing over 700 staff & Consultants across the UK is looking to expand its criminal defence department by recruiting an in house crime duty qualified solicitor.

The department has recently been awarded 27 Duty provider contracts at Police Stations, Magistrates Courts and in the Crown Courts from offices in London and across the UK.

The vacancy listed above are not dependent on any duty provider contract proceeding.

The successful candidate will be joining a team of over 50 duty qualified solicitors to assist in the increased volume of work.

Key Skills Required:

To be duty qualified, have significant and relevant experience as a Criminal Law Solicitor and show passion for Criminal Law work.

Have a strong ability to manage and supervise Trainees and Paralegals and be able to demonstrate continuous professional development throughout your career. The successful candidate must have experience in a broad range of public funded Criminal Law work.

Higher rights of advocacy qualification will be an advantage although not a necessity.

Be professional, have a pro-active approach and excellent client care skills. It will be important that you also have the ability to successfully market the Company and generate new business.
