We are now looking for an experienced Training Coordinator to join the HR team to be the main contact for our Solicitors but also provide generalist HR support to other Fee earners and business support staff.

The main activities of this role include:

  • To contribute at strategic and operational level effective service to stakeholders (both internal and external) in relation to training requirement.
  • To assist in ensuring that all identified training needs are met, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance in connection with standards relating to external quality marks (including Lexcel and IIP) and external requirements related to relevant professional bodies (LSC, SRA, Law Society). 
  • Responsible for the operational delivery of an efficient training service within the firm, including liaising with relevant Heads of Department and new joiners to secure adequate identification and recording of individual training needs and their incorporation into the firm's annual Training Plan.
  • Drafting and delivering relevant training modules in line with the firm's published Business Plan in addition to delivering of the induction module and coordinating regular updates of the departmental induction modules to include new organisational developments.
  • Update of training related information on the firm's database, including active participation on the redesign of the in-house database system as and when required.
  • Liaising with external and internal training providers.
  • Regular report generation to support the delivery of the firm's existing Key Performance Indicators
  • Project work in line with Departmental objectives.
  • Any other reasonable tasks required by management

The above list is not exhaustive and will be subject to regular reviews.  Additional reasonable responsibilities may be allocated by management as part of the reviews.

Key Skills Required:

  • Experience in supporting a busy Training and Development department within a fast pace business environment (a minimum of six months experience is required).
  • A legal background or experience in a legal environment will be an advantage
  • Excellent communications skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to draft own training material based on existing documentation.
  • Negotiating skills to ensure commitment from others in achieving set targets.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Experience in delivering training modules, either following own drafting or drafted by others.
  • Basic project management skills will be an advantage.
  • Able to work on own initiative (self-motivated).
  • Team player, able to support other team players in the delivery of team objectives.
  • Good organisational skills and time management.
  • Ability to be pro-active.
  • High flexibility and adaptability.
  • IT Skills - Microsoft packages preferred (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access) at intermediate to advance level. Familiar with HR related databases.
