Excellent new in-house solicitor role with a leading UK financial wraps business based in their offices in Edinburgh. The company are interested in speaking with ambitious lawyers with circa 3+ years PQE and ideally experience working within an financial services or regulated environment. 

Role Profile:

  • You will assist the business to achieve its commercial and strategic objectives by taking responsibility for building and developing relationships with a range of business stakeholders, and providing them with legal support to ensure high standards are met within the legal team. 
  • he solicitor’s responsibilities include: the review, negotiation, drafting and maintenance of a number of commercial contracts with partners, suppliers, users and other third parties; the preparation of board papers and other legal reporting; representing the company’s legal interests in regulatory and proposition change projects; managing a wide range of projects, and assistance with the design and delivery of the company’s governance structure.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in legal role ideally with a financial services, regulatory and/or product background.
  • Wrap platform knowledge is desirable but not essential.
  • Good understanding of industry best practice, financial products, governance, legislation and procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry best practice including FCA/legislative requirements.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Experience of drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
  • Ability to analyse, present and report legal information clearly to non-legal and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide and respond to challenge.
  • You will take an avid interest in the financial services sector and you take full ownership of the work you’re doing and are confident in making decisions.
