Housing Litigation Solicitor

Our central Bristol local authority is currently seeking a Housing Litigation Solicitor / Legal Executive who can join them asap for at least 1 month on a locum basis.

The successful Housing Litigation Solicitor will provide advice to the council with matters including but not limited to;

*Housing possessions cases in respect of secure, introductory and unsecured tenancies
*Anti-social behaviour cases including injunctions, demotions and possessions
*Tenancy standards, drafting and serving NOSPs when deemed necessary
*Defending judicial review cases

Other duties may include:

*Draft and serve abatement notices
*Attending the Magistrates Court to obtain warrants
*Deal with injunctive relief pursuant to the Protection from Harassment and Housing Act
*Seek injunctions including Ex Parte Injunctions against trespassers and travellers and conducted evictions
*Draft legal documents which may include notices, contracts, policies, licences and tenancy agreements

Due to the nature of this role, it is beneficial for the successful candidate to have a local authority background, although this is not essential.

This is a short term interim assignment expected to last a minimum of 1 month. The successful candidate should be able to start at short notice as our client is looking for the right candidate to start asap.

The local authority office is within easy reach to all major transport links and is situated within walking distance from Bristol Temple Meads train station.
