Commercial Lawyer

My client, a FTSE 100 manufacturing company is looking for a Commercial Lawyer to join their team on a fixed term maternity cover basis. This is a very global company and the role offers extensive commercial experience, including international commercial contracts.

The role is on a contract basis to cover a maternity leave and would report in to the departmental Head of Legal.

Role Responsibilities:

• Drafting, negotiating, and updating UK and international commercial contracts for clients, suppliers, IT service providers, data processors, and general IP licencing
• Supporting various areas of the business including operations, procurement, marketing, sales, quality, technology, and supply chain
• Advising the business on national and international legal issues
• Dealing with queries relating to compliance including sanctions
• Managing compliance in the department as a whole
• Assisting the legal director to plan the legal training programme

Candidates of interest will be:

• Qualified lawyers coming from a private practice or in-house background
• Depth of corporate / commercial experience, particularly working in-house for a company in a variety of sectors including FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, or Engineering sectors
• Strong technical skills particularly relating to drafting commercial contracts
• Ability to build strong relationships with members of the business
• Experience working across international jurisdictions
