A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Senior Commercial Property locum to work within the busy Legal Services Property Team based in Lincolnshire.

Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors or Legal Executives with experience working within a local government legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in dealing with complex sales and purchases, drafting commercial leases and deeds in addition to property education/academy disposals.

The purpose of this role is to provide high quality legal and administrative advice and services and external customers.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage a complex caseload to include transactional sales; acquisitions; leases; landlord and tenant work; complex property project work and legal research and advice.
  • Provide high quality legal advice and services to the County Council and external customers
  • To undertake all legal services work whether advice or casework with appropriate supervision and professional support.
  • To give legal procedural and propriety advice to senior officers, elected members or other persons
  • Assist and support the Monitoring Officer in discharging their duties and responsibilities.
  • Advising Members and Officers on the constitution and on decision making process
  • To communicate with the Monitoring Officer and to follow all instructions of the Monitoring Officer or any deputy in relation to the conduct of any monitoring officer activities.
  • To assist in the investigation of complaints in relation to issues raised with the Ombudsman, any Inspectorate, the Council`s Auditors, the Standards Committee, the Standards Board or any Ethical Standards Officer
  • To operate all management information and other systems and procedures and to use ICT and other support services


The hourly rate for this role will be between £35-£50 per hour and will be dependant on experience.
