Immigration paralegal job with national law firm, Permanent, Surrey, salary up to £25,000

Your new company
This leading full service law firm is based in Surrey, and has a national and international practice. The firm is looking for a specialist Immigration Paralegal/Caseworker to join them. The firm's immigration practice is ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers. The majority of the team's work involves advising employers who want to recruit overseas nationals. However they also advise in relation to personal immigration matters. You will be involved in aspects of UK immigration advice, EU free movement and nationality advice, paying particular attention to Tier 2 and business immigration matters.

Your new role
You will support immigration lawyers within the Immigration, Employment and Pensions department. The complexity of the role will depend on your level of experience. More experienced candidates may have the opportunity to handle immigration applications and advise clients more independently. Your basic duties will include assisting with the preparation of immigration applications and documents, and completing relevant forms including Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 4, European applications, Indefinite leave to remain and Nationality/naturalisation. You will draft supporting documents and correspondence, advise on immigration options with appropriate supervision, and liaise with visa agents and the Home office. You will also assist solicitors with dealing with day-to-day immigration queries and carry out research, as well as help register employers as sponsors under the Points Based System and in relation to immigration audits. You will create new client matters, assist with the client billing process and client file management, and support with business development and marketing initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need the LLB, alongside relevant immigration work experience. It would be preferable, although not essential, if you are OISC qualified.

What you'll get in return
You will work for one of the most profitable firms in the south of England, which provides market leading salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.
