An excellent opportunity to join a leading FTSE Company that owns some of the world's most famous FMCG brands. This is abroad ranging hands-on role for a mid-level level looking to interface with C-suite individuals at a FTSE listed company. Reporting to the Company Secretary and Corporate General Counsel, you will undertake a hands-on and broad ranging role.
- Treasury - (1) Provide legal input to the formulation of strategy, testing of project feasibility and implementation. Treasury projects tend to involve several departments. This role often provides "cut through" and simplicity (so reducing execution risk and shortening timescales) and provides a valuable check to ensure that other essential specialist input is added. (2) General advisory, including work around Irish finance and tax structures, pensions, insurance (3) Support compliance (anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and other Code of Business Conduct and Global C&E policy matters).
- Tax - support to Global Tax Projects.
- IR - review of investor materials
- Legal operations - ensuring the global Function operates effectively and efficiently.
- Co Sec - working with Co Sec and Finance teams on corporate governance matters, disclosure, securities and general compliance advice.
- Annual report - legal support to the half and full year reporting
- Amsterdam (holds a significant amount of group companies and its brands) - support on English law/PLC perspective.
- Finance Committee and Treasury Risk Management Committee - reviews papers and attends.
- Ensure that the accountability for meeting global legal spend savings targets are supported
- Within Corporate oversee and challenge setting of external spend budgets and monitor variance. For Treasury set and monitor legal budgets allocated to individual projects supported by the role.
- Mitigating risk so as to avoid "negative" financial and reputational consequences.
- The Treasury function is a key interface between Corporate Centre and its In-Market Companies (IMCs).
- A number of the functions that this role supports - e.g. Treasury, Tax and Finance - operate globally which means that international coordination of projects is fundamental to the role, including an ability to engage effectively with other global functions and IMCs to support the agendas of the role's key stakeholders.
- Working with IR and on the Annual Report requires a breadth of understanding of's business globally.
