This role will report to the UK Head of Contracts, the successful applicant for the role will be expected to be a strategic business partner and to take ownership of the legal demands of the businesses. From analysis of tenders, contract drafting and negotiation through to contract completion and all ancillary legal matters (including advising on potential disputes, legislative compliance and legal training).
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to manage and develop the role of more junior members of the Legal Function and will also be tasked with managing the cost effective use of external professional advisers in support of business legal objectives.

Description
You will be responsible for:
* Interaction with the UK Executive team and senior management.
* Managing the legal and contracting requirements for the business to include:-
- analysis of tenders and new contract opportunities;
- advising on a wide range of contractual and corporate risks and delivering solution-based advices;
- actively negotiating contract terms and knowledge of commercial imperatives for achieving a successful contract and client relationship;
- drafting template and bespoke contract documents and clause wordings;
- attending business sector and Executive team reviews on key business opportunities;
- supporting bid/no-bid discussions and recommendations;
- Supporting Sales and Business Development teams by attendance at Sales Function meetings and face to face client meetings;
- Ability to interact with all levels of business and to tailor feedback to meet internal audience and business requirements;
- Management and development of more junior in-house solicitors;
- Capture and storage of all completed contract and other legal documentation.
Profile
You will be a:
Qualified Lawyer with 6-10yrs PQE
* High level of legal and analytical skills
* Good commercial acumen and ability to place legal issues within a commercial context
* An ability to assess real-life impact of legal issues and take a strategic view and assess "smart risk"
* Excellent inter-personal skills with proven ability to influence and comfortable communicating with all levels of the business and its clients
* Proven success as commercial lawyer with previous in-house experience beneficial
* Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects and at various stages of the business process.
