EMEA Data Privacy Lawyer

This premier investment bank seeks a sole Global Data Privacy Lawyer to report to its Head of Employment law, taking responsibility for the full range of data privacy, information security and cybersecurity matters, with a primary emphasis on EMEA data privacy matters.  

The role will involve working closely with legal colleagues across the global network, preparing and strengthening the data privacy program internally in preparation for the EU General Data Protection Regulations.  In addition, you will be involved in employee privacy matters (subject access, monitoring, notice and consent requirements), review and investigation of data leakage events, review of privacy policy and procedure, notifications and data privacy aspects of vendor and outsourcing agreements.

As the bank's primary Data Privacy lawyer in EMEA and based in their London office, you will be able to carve out a niche in a role over the scope of which you will be able to exert a degree of influence.

The successful candidate will be a lawyer with between 8-12 years' PQE and significant exposure to international data privacy issues.  With training from a major City law firm, you will ideally have exposure to in-house work either via secondment or a permanent in-house position.
