Director, Prime Services, European Bank 7+ years PQE

This European investment bank is looking for a lawyer to join their team in London at Director level. You will be part of a team of 6 lawyers and report directly into the Head of Legal.

The team deals with prime brokerage execution and clearing services;  securities financing, agency lending and portfolio and collateral solutions; and supporting the development of new business opportunities, products and services in the field of Prime Brokerage.

Your day to day activities would involve:

• Drafting negotiation policies for all agreements governing prime brokerage services, products and transactions offered by the business line;
• Maintaining  standard templates in relation to brokerage activities and advising the business on specific legal and regulatory issues arising from trading, clearing relationships and collateral arrangements for clients;
• Reviewing  and advising on the creation of new products or access to new markets for all asset classes;
• Handling negotiation and drafting of trading, clearing and prime brokerage documentation, including derivatives clearing documentation, prime brokerage agreements, broker terms of business and financing agreement, trading agreements together with ISDA documentation, GMRAs, GMSLAs and other CPMA;
• Ensuring consistency between customer and counterparty documentation with the business’ documentation policy globally.
• Instructing and supervising external counsel as appropriate;
• Supervising the ongoing development of the department’s know-how system and providing in-house training sessions to internal stakeholders;

The ideal candidate will have around 10 years post qualification experience and have worked at another UK investment bank in the City.
