Property Lawyer

We are recruiting for a Property Lawyer to work within the commercial team for a Local Authority in North West London.

This fundamental role will include:

• Providing specialist legal advice on all aspects on Property Law including:
  • Commercial Leases
  • Residential Leases
  • Leasehold management including service of notices
  • Licenses and tenancies at will
  • Development agreements
  • Compulsory acquisition
  • Services tenancies
  • Mortgages
  • Capital Finance Regulations
• Providing legal advice on highway laws (as required),
• Advising on committee and other similar reports,
• Preparing and negotiating contracts, leases, transfers, agreements, notices, orders and other relevant documentation,
• Dealing with corporate complaints and member enquiries,
• Providing proactive legal advice to clients and assisting with client liaison,
• Keeping up to date with changes in the law and informing/ advising on such,
• Providing training to members or clients,
• Carrying out any other duties as may be required within the general remit of the role.

The successful applicant will:

• Ideally be a Solicitor (or equivalent) with post qualification experience of dealing with all aspects of commercial and residential conveyancing and be able to handle such transactions,
• Preferably have knowledge and experience relating to highways and compulsory purchase orders,
• Have the ability to give proactive legal advice which supports clients business needs,
• Be confident deputising for the Senior Property Paralegal,
• Be able to prepare and advise on the preparation of reports to committee,
• Work well in a team and develop and maintain good working relations,
• Have effective oral and written communications and good presentation skills.
