I am currently recruiting a Personal Injury Paralegal on behalf of a Top 100 Law Firm at their York office.

As a Personal Injury Paralegal you will be responsible for conducting the defence of general insurance claims, including mainly claims for Personal Injury.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Dealing with opponents, experts, statutory bodies and clients by e-mail, telephone and in writing.
• Negotiating on issues of liability and quantum.
• Assisting senior colleagues, if requested, with higher value claims.
• Pursuing recovery of client’s losses, where appropriate, from third parties
• Maintaining accurate financial / reserve / risk management information on all claims
• Complying with internal, client and procedural protocols
• Ensuring that personal objectives are reviewed and met.
• Developing a good relationship with existing and potential clients ensuring that a high standard of client care in exercised at all times.
• Ensuring that relevant training is carried out and keeping up to date with relevant legislation and practice.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with SRA/Law Society Regulations.
• Taking an active part, along with the Department Head and Fee Earners from other departments, in marketing initiatives benefiting both their own department and other departments in the Firm.
• Carrying out duties and responsibilities with due regard to the firm’s Equality & Diversity Policy.
