I am currently recruiting a capable Associate/Senior Associate for a fundamental hire in the development of a highly regarded and expert Contentious Trust Probate Team within a Top 50 Firm.

This is a superb opportunity to develop your skills within a highly established and innovative Contentious Trusts and Probate department, and to work alongside leading solicitors and experts on a stimulating mix of high quality privately-funded cases and also be able to handle cases with alternative funding, such as CFAs, LEI, ATE and BTE insurance.

The team has many years of experience representing executors, beneficiaries and trustees to provide outstanding client care and achieve landmark case judgements. It is the largest team outside of London.

As a senior member of the team, you will play an integral role in the growth and leadership of the team. You’ll lead the investigation and litigation on complex cases and work as part of a team to maximise client damages and optimise costs recovery. In your role, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Solicitors, Paralegals and Litigation Assistants to deliver an exceptional client experience, develop their technical expertise and meet agreed performance targets. You will also be responsible for developing external relationships to provide an exceptional client experience and generate new cases.

To be successful in this role you must:

 - Have a number of years Contentious Trusts and Probate Litigation experience.
 - Have a strong appetite for business development, be able to build successful relationships with referrers of work, members of the bar and the legal profession. Existing contacts within the local area would be an advantage.
 - Be a member of ACTAPS and/or STEP professional bodies.
 - Be able to operate independently and as part of a team, to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and develop other team members.
 - Be able to supervise, coach, lead and develop a team of Solicitors, Paralegals and Litigation Assistants. Previous management experience would be an advantage.
 - Have excellent client care and inter-personal skills, operating with integrity and showing empathy and intuition.

On offer is a highly attractive benefits package, including a contributory pension scheme, critical illness cover, associate discretionary bonus, car parking or cash allowance, AXA health care or cash allowance, group income protection scheme, death in service, discounted legal services, 25 days holiday (this increases with length of service), discounted online shopping, season ticket loans and childcare vouchers.

To hear more about this fantastic role, please get in touch ASAP.
