A global accommodation provider offering over 40,000 beds for leading Universities worldwide. Due to continued business growth they have newly created position for a Junior Legal Counsel to provide assistance to the Head of Legal. You will focus on drafting and reviewing commercial contracts to advise stakeholders and investors on a number of legal issues. The ideal candidate will be city trained with some exposure to Project Finance experience having the ability to draft a range of commercial, funding, construction and standard form contracts.
The Role
You will have Involvement at all stages of the developments and will work alongside the Commercial Team to ensure that all contracts and legal documents meet client and fund expectations. You will draft, negotiate and review agreements whilst project manage the legal aspects of bid processes to assist in winning and delivering deals. This role offers involvement at all stages of the developments, from the tender phases of the bidding process and acting as the legal point of contact for external and internal stakeholders throughout the dialogue process. As part of your role you will attend legal dialogue client meetings and will be responsible for drafting the legal sections of Board Investment Papers and assist with company secretarial services.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have gained at least 1yr PQE however will consider relevant candidates with more or less experience. Must have broad brush commercial law experience ideally in commercial contracts and regulated procurement work. Candidates with knowledge and experience of acting for clients within the higher education or student accommodation sector would be advantageous. Must UK trained and Qualified with solid experience in advising on property and commercial finance matters. This role offers great exposure to both the legal and commercial aspects of the business, so candidates must have strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. On a regular basis there will be some UK Wide travel required.
